Home automation is also known as smart-home. It may include centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, and other systems. It provides improved convenience, comfort, energy efficiency, and security.
Simply put, a home automation system integrates electrical devices in a house with each other. For example, changing the ambiance “scenes” for different events (such as dinners or parties), or remotely controlling your house temperature. Devices can be connected through a computer network, and allows control by a personal computer. Thus, this can all be done remotely or wirelessly from the Internet. Through the integration of IT with the home environment, technology and appliances are able to communicate intimately. At the end of it all, it improves convenience, energy efficiency, and safety.
