Tips on Mounting Ceiling Projectors

Here are some tips on mounting ceiling projectors.  A projector is an awesome way of boosting your home theater since it makes images bigger for that ultimate movie theater feeling. Unlike ordinary HD TVs which have a specific size, when using a projector, you have the advantage of adjusting the size of the images. Mounting your projector on the ceiling gives your home theater a polished look, saves space and ensures that there’s minimal interference from people who might be crisscrossing the room. In addition to that, you also need to consider the size of the room, the projectors vertical offset, throw distance and your screen size before you mount it.

Screen size and location

When it comes to one of the top tips of mounting ceiling projectors, choosing the precise location to mount your projector requires you to balance the screen size to your perfection. To achieve maximum resolution, there has to be a balance between the two elements. The best technique of determining your desired screen size is to have the projector hanging in different ceiling positions and cast its image on the desired wall. Then use the projector’s setup tools i.e. the lens shifting, zoom, etc, to place and size the images the way you want. Furthermore, if you want to have a larger screen, the light output of the projector will need to be higher. After establishing the location, you can fix the ceiling stud using lag bolts and screwdriver.

Precise image placement

A projector that has a better vertical/horizontal lens shifting and higher zoom provides more flexibility when positioning the images. In case you projector has low zoom or no lens shifting, ensure that you place it at the center from the screen in a position that is not too high. Most projectors normally have an on-screen test which helps in accurate placement of images. You can also adjust the focus tools/ motorized zoom with a remote as you closely observe for changes.

Wiring connection

This depends on how you want to run power input and video signals to your projector. You have to first assess the distance from the projector to the nearest power outlet. In order to secure the cables and keep the room looking good, the cables should pass through the ceiling. One thing you should have in mind when doing the wiring is; the longer the cables, the more expensive it becomes. The quality of video signals also becomes poorer as the distance becomes longer. Therefore, you’ll need an HDMI extender kit.

Focusing and Fine adjustment

Lastly, turn on the projector and use the instruction manual to guide you in adjusting the lens shift, the zoom and the focus to the settings your desire. The manual guides you in setting the color, brightness, and contrast of the projector. Additionally, you should first adjust the image so that it becomes very accurate before you start fine tuning.
